The California Guest House

The property was built in the late 1800’s and first used as a guest house in the 1920’s. Original features can still be seen in the entrance lobby of the property.

We fell in love with the place because of it’s central location, large lounge with a sunny aspect and open plan bar and dinning area.

Our top-rated hotel has four steps from the street to the main front door and is spread over two floors. Our bed and breakfast has two ground floor rooms, with all remaining bedrooms being up one flight of stairs.

All our hotel bedrooms have en-suite facilities consisting of a shower, toilet and sink.

Public areas are located on the ground floor, therefore easily accessible by people with mobility issues.

We are situated close to the sea front, near to the iconic Blackpool tower and ballroom, Winter gardens , local Houndshill shopping centre, Madame Tussauds, Sea-life centre , Central pier, Viva show bar, The Grand Theatre. Blackpool zoo is just a bus journey away/ 2 minutes in the car, with its own car-park at just £2.50 for the day, Stanley park is a nice place to spend some time with the family . The pleasure beach and Blackpool water park are just a short tram journey away . The casino is within 5 minutes walk as well as some nice restaurants and bars.

Blackpool North train station is a 7 minute walk.

We have a number of golf courses close by that are within easy driving distance from the Guest house.

Excellent guest house Another lovely stay at the California guest house Andrea n Pete are amazing hosts nothing is too much trouble everything is lovely n clean the breakfast is outstanding it's in a good location only a few minutes away from coral island I definitely 100% recommend California guest house

Perfect weekend stay Another great stay at California Guest house.. definitely our go to place to stay in Blackpool, the hosts Pete and Andrea are amazing and attentive to all of our needs making sure our stay is as comfortable as possible. Also in walking distance to attractions, tram stops lots of places to eat and the beach front.

Another no drama stay. All good. Clean, great location and friendly staff. A returning customer well looked after as usual. All pros and no cons. Facilities fine , a fine breakfast to start the day , more than fairly priced.

Rebellion Festival Experience Pete and Andrea were a welcome sight again.As always my stay was warm friendly and top class. The rooms are perfect as is the breakfast. The owners are just so nice and will take care of all your needs.

Best place to stay in Blackpool We love it here. We'd not stay anywhere else in Blackpool. Andrea and Pete are brilliant. They're just so warm and friendly. The welcome they give you is like walking into a big hug. Check in is quick and easy. The rooms are well decorated, exceptionally clean. I personally think Andrea is very brave having fluffy white towels and white bedding. These are both always clean and fresh. The beds are comfy and the bathrooms (all rooms en suite) are fabulous. Toiletries are provided, you just need toothpaste, toothbrush and deodorant. There's a hospitality tray with tea, coffee and milk and really nice biscuits. The premises are licensed, so there's a bar available if you need it. Breakfast is fantastic, a choice of juices, cereals and you can have what you like to eat for breakfast, there's loads of toast with preserves and lots of tea or coffee. Andrea and Pete are very chatty and conversation with them is lively and interesting. Give this place a go, it really deserves the 5 star reviews it gets

Excellent Stayed here for 3 nights was made very welcome on arrival the room was very clean and bright the bed was very comfy plenty of tea and coffee in the room the breakfast lovely and plenty of it to fill you up for the day and the hosts are wonderful nothing was too much trouble for them I will definitely be staying here again

Gets better every time I stop here A warm welcome awaits you when you arrive here. Been stopping here for 3 years now and it keeps getting better and better, it's like stopping visiting your family. The rooms are warm, clean and perfect for a stop in Blackpool. Breakfast is amazing and nothing is too much trouble. I have booked in again for next year and also bring my family up in the summer as the location is amazing for visiting Blackpool. I will never stop anywhere else in Blackpool while this lovely couple run this Guest house. So if you are going to stop in Blackpool this is the place to stop. FIVE STARS

Great B&B, brilliant location, friendly owners! This is the second time we have stayed here and we love it! Friendly owners who can't do enough for you, rooms are clean and there's always plenty of tea, coffee, water and biscuits in your room. Really good location, not far from the centre. They have made us feel so welcome both times we have stayed! Definitely our first choice B&B

Brilliant BnB! What a great BnB! Host are so nice and we’re so good with mine and my friends little girls, both under 2 and very lively! The bar area is brilliant, very cheap drinks £3 for a pint of san Miguel! And very relaxed setting. Breakfast was brilliant, one of the best breakfasts Iv had in a long time. Location is brilliant to just Short walk to coral island and the prom. We also walked to the zoo which took 30mins. We’ve stayed in a few places over the years and this was far sure the best.

Blackpool pigeon weekend We had a great time for the pigeon weekend the Blackpool Show of the Year we found the rooms were spotlessly clean and very warm. The breakfast was lovely and plenty of it!! Our hosts couldn’t do enough for us. This was the first we stayed at the California and we booked for next year as we were leaving.
